Creating an artistic sanctuary that resonates with the homeowner's personal taste is an excersize in getting to know your clients true desires of their home.
The interior design thoughtfully integrates the homeowner's extensive collection of artwork, enhancing the artistic atmosphere of the home. The clean lines and warm neutrals balance with gold finishes and moody ink-toned stone features. Allowing the bold details to shine creates a home that acts as a canvas- a true reflection of the homeowner's personality, lifestyle, and creativity.
In the kitchen, the unusual pie-shaped space was reconfigured to suit his needs while the bold green color reflected some of the avocado cookware his parents used in his youth. While the adjacent pantry, once his sister's tiny bedroom, was converted into an ample space for storage and more kitchen prep.
The bedroom offers a serene retreat characterized by minimalism and texture. The focus here is on creating visual interest through varied materials rather than an array of colors, allowing for a calming environment. In contrast, the main bathroom features a whimsical hand painted mural, warm natural stone, and romantic gold finishes for the fixtures.
The remaining spaces were largely restored including the oiriginal leaded steel windows, and hardwood floors but modern elements were introduced such as the hulking and sculptural fireplace.
The homeowner's father is honored through thoughtful design choices, such as custom pillows made from his sweaters, adding a personal touch and evoke cherished memories, further enriching the home's storied past and exciting future.
“Working with a client that has a distinct point of view always results in a more personal space. Though the home has the feeling of a gallery, it is built for real life- entertaining and hospitality. “
